Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of pulmonary conditions including asthma, COPD, tuberculosis (including MDR-TB), ILD, pulmonary hypertension, and other respiratory illnesses.
- Treat critically ill patients in the ICU, including those with ARDS, sepsis, shock, and multi-organ failure using evidence-based protocols.
- Perform and interpret essential pulmonary procedures such as:
- Diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy
- Thoracentesis
- Pleural biopsy
- Ventilator management and weaning
- Sleep studies and interpretation (optional, if applicable)
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in clinical and procedural care.
- Participate actively in daily ICU rounds, case presentations, multidisciplinary team discussions, and mortality and morbidity audits.
